On 7 and 8 December, Barga in Cioccolato, an event that has become a tradition in Barga and that wasn’t organised last year because of Covid-19, finally makes a comeback. This time the Festival will take place respecting Covid regulations. It will be possible to taste different kinds of chocolate from all around Tuscany and Italy. Apart from the chocolate market, Barga’s bars, restaurants and so on will contribute to the event by preparing many tasty recipes, transforming Barga into a real chocolate city.
In addition to merchants, the students of the F.lli Pieroni Catering Institute will share many ideas for the setting the Christmas table and they will display their chocolate masterpieces.
Barga in Cioccolato does not finish here: there will be craft stands too and we hope you’ll find some ideas for your Christmas gifts there.
Moreover, on 7 December you will be able to watch Ape Teatrale: in the Piazza del Teatro at 4pm and in Piazza Garibaldi at 5.30pm Dottor Balanzone and Arlecchino will converse about recent events.
Many activities for children will take place too: during both days Befana will walk through Barga’s Old Town Centre and in Piazza Garibaldi the Organisation “Nati per Leggere” will read Christmas stories to children.
Another interesting moment will take place from 9pm to 10pm on Tuesday 7 December, when the “Solenne Doppio dell’Immacolata Concezione” will be played by Barga’s Bell Ringers. Music will always be present during these days: on 8 December the West Coast Street Band will entertain its audience playing and walking through the Old Town Centre.
Many thanks to Barbara Bonuccelli who organised the event and supplied the information to write this article!
